William A. Vieth

William Vieth’s practice focuses on intellectual property and technology-related litigation, including patent litigation and international arbitration proceedings. His experience includes preparing contentions, drafting motions, supporting witness depositions, and conducting pre-suit diligence in cases involving medical devices, robotics, and computer software. 

Before joining Desmarais LLP, Mr. Vieth worked as a summer associate in the patent prosecution department of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP’s Silicon Valley office on cases involving electronics and computer software. During law school, he spent two semesters as a patent and licensing intern with the University of Virginia Patent Foundation, now the UVA Licensing and Ventures Group, where he drafted and filed patent applications involving medical surgical devices and substance detection devices. Before law school, he worked as a consultant at Navigant Consulting, now Guidehouse, focusing on emerging technology and energy efficiency consulting.
