Eric Speckhard’s practice focuses on intellectual property trial and appellate litigation across a broad range of industries and technologies.
 
Prior to rejoining Desmarais, Eric served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kimberly A. Moore of the United States Court of Appeals (2023-2023) and was an intellectual property associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP.
 
During law school, Eric served as a Submissions Editor for the Columbia Science and Technology Law Review, was a National Quarterfinalist in the Giles Sutherland Rich Memorial Moot Court, and was a research assistant to Professors Jane Ginsburg and Clarisa Long, studying copyright and unfair competition law respectively. Upon graduation from law school, Eric was awarded the Carroll G. Harper Prize, given to the “member of the graduating class who has attained the highest standards of achievement in intellectual property studies and writing.”  Prior to law school, Eric obtained a graduate degree in Physics at Ohio State University, where he was a Fowler and University Fellow.
