Charles Schmidt

Charlie Schmidt’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and counseling.  He has represented consumer technology companies as both plaintiffs and defendants in federal district courts and maintains a pro bono practice representing disabled veterans.
 
Before joining Desmarais LLP, Mr. Schmidt clerked for Judge Armando O. Bonilla of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and worked as a litigation associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP.  During law school, Mr. Schmidt served as a member of The George Washington Law Review, a member of the Moot Court Board, and a research assistant to Associate Dean for Intellectual Property Law John M. Whealan.  In 2023, Mr. Schmidt participated in the Rothwell Intellectual Property Law Moot Court Competition, where his team won first place and the Best Brief award, and Mr. Schmidt won the award for Best Oral Advocate.
