Arista Networks Inc. v. Cisco Systems Inc.

Antitrust Litigation

On August 6, 2018, the day a trial was set to begin in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Desmarais LLP secured a settlement victory for Cisco Systems Inc. (“Cisco”) in an antitrust lawsuit brought by Arista Networks Inc. (“Arista”).  Arista agreed to pay Cisco $400 million to settle patent infringement litigation and to withdraw its antitrust claims against Cisco.  The Desmarais LLP team, led by John Desmarais, served as lead counsel for Cisco in the antitrust lawsuit that was originally filed in February 2016.  The Desmarais LLP team also included partners Paul Bondor and Andrew Heinz, and associates Jeffrey Seddon, Brian Leary, William Findlay, Carson Olsheski, Kyle Petrie, and Joze Welsh.
