John M. Desmarais

LMG Life Sciences named John Desmarais, partner at Desmarais LLP, as its General Patent Litigator of the Year (New York) in the 2025 Americas Awards.
 
During the past year, Desmarais helped oversee three successive victories before the Federal Circuit that upheld patents that formed the basis of $429.5 million in damages secured in the district courts for Ravgen’s non-invasive prenatal genetic testing technology. Those damages include a $272.5 million jury verdict – later enhanced to $372.5 million – that Desmarais won for Ravgen against Labcorp.
