Accolades

The 2022 rankings recognize the top firms and attorneys handling life sciences matters in the United States. LMG reviews case work from the last 12 months, using firm submissions, practitioner interviews, client feedback, and independent research and then selects firms and attorneys across four practice areas – regulatory, intellectual property, financial and corporate, and litigation.

During the past year, Desmarais LLP had several important life sciences victories, which included winning a $272.5 million jury verdict (and a finding of willful infringement) involving a non-invasive prenatal genetic testing patent for plaintiff Ravgen against LabCorp; obtaining a $1.25 billion settlement plus royalties for clients ViiV Healthcare and Shionogi & Co. in a global pharmaceutical drug lawsuit against Gilead Sciences; and securing a very favorable settlement for patent holder Avanos Medical in an infringement lawsuit related to its cooled radiofrequency ablation pain treatment technology against Medtronic.
