Managing IP named Desmarais LLP Firm of the Year in the Patent Disputes category as part of its 2025 Americas Awards.
The recognition highlights Desmarais LLP’s recent victories in the federal district and appellate courts, as well as before the International Trade Commission. These include a noninfringement defense verdict in the Western District of Texas that eliminated $361 million in damages related to encryption security patents; a $44.9 million verdict won in the District of Delaware where a jury found two interactive services patents were infringed; three Federal Circuit victories that upheld the non-invasive prenatal genetic testing patents behind $429.5 million in damages; and a defense win before the ITC in a trade secret case. Partners Brian Matty, Ben Luehrs, and Karim Oussayef accepted the award on behalf of Desmarais LLP.
