Law.com Highlights Desmarais LLP’s West Coast Growth

News

About a year after Desmarais LLP opened its San Francisco office, Law.com has now spotlighted the firm’s expanding client relationships on the West Coast and described the firm as bridging what’s been referred to as Silicon Valley’s “great divide.”

Law.com reported, on April 17, that Desmarais LLP is representing Google LLC in a patent infringement lawsuit where the firm is defending the company against patent claims involving its Street View feature in Google Maps.

This litigation, alongside the firm’s representation of Apple, puts Desmarais LLP in rare company, spanning the “great divide” between two of Silicon Valley’s largest companies that often split up work done by technology-focused law firms. “You can now add Desmarais LLP to the ranks that have bridged the divide,” Law.com wrote.

In June 2019, Desmarais LLP launched the San Francisco office, the firm’s first expansion since opening its New York headquarters in 2010. The firm highlighted its goals to strengthen existing relationships with current clients and forge new bonds with California-based companies in the technology and biotech sectors.

Desmarais LLP partners John Desmarais and Ameet Modi and associates Steven Balcof, Elizabeth Weyl, and Emily Chen represent Google in the above-referenced patent infringement case.
