Amanda Potter represents clients in the medical device and life sciences industries in patent infringement litigation, inter partes review proceedings, appellate litigation, and International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) arbitration.  She has experience in all stages of litigation and inter partes review proceedings, including preparing expert and fact witnesses for deposition and trial, brief drafting, and preparing for oral argument.

Ms. Potter serves as counsel for a variety of complex intellectual property and patent litigation matters. Recently, Ms. Potter served as trial and litigation counsel for Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, in patent infringement suits filed under the Hatch-Waxman Act, and inter partes review proceedings involving the blockbuster prostate cancer drug Zytiga®. 

Before joining Desmarais LLP, Ms. Potter was an associate in the New York office of Sidley Austin LLP. While in law school, Ms. Potter served as the Associate Editor, Online Content and Submissions, for the Science and Technology Law Review at Columbia University. She also participated in the AIPLA moot court competition, both as a competitor and coach. During law school, she spent two semesters as an intern with Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts New York, which provides legal services and education for artists and inventors.
