Paxton Lewis’s practice focuses on complex business disputes and intellectual property litigation, including trade secret misappropriation, patent infringement, trademark and trade dress infringement, false advertising, unfair competition, and related contractual mattes for both plaintiffs and defendants. Paxton has prepared briefs for high-stakes motions and appeals, argued dispositive issues, prepared fact and expert witnesses for deposition and trial, developed and advanced trial and appeal strategies. In addition to her experience handling appeals and all pre-trial phases of litigation, Paxton also counsels clients on cutting-edge data protection issues, including privacy policies, regulation compliance, and due diligence in corporate transactions. Her technical experience spans a wide range of industries and technologies, including software and information technology, communications, electronics, consumer products, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and biotechnology.
 
Before joining Desmarais LLP, Paxton clerked for Judge Todd M. Hughes at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and Judge Kent A. Jordan on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Paxton also clerked for the Honorable Thomas R. Lee on the Utah Supreme Court.
