John Desmarais to Speak at ChIPs Panel on 'Outstanding Male Allies Advancing Women'

News

John Desmarais, founding partner of Desmarais LLP, will take part in the virtual panel "Outstanding Male Allies Advancing Women" hosted by ChIPs (Chiefs in Intellectual Property) to be held from 2-3 p.m. ET on October 24, 2023.

Moderated by Joan Toth, executive director of ChIPs, the panel will feature a conversation with male allies in the legal industry discussing their efforts to help women progress in the world of tech, law, and policy. The panel will encourage others to take on roles as allies and highlight how leaders can build a more fair and equitable workplace. The panel will also detail the distinction between mentors and sponsors and the steps needed to foster a culture of sponsorship.

Founded in 2005, ChIPs is a nonprofit organization that seeks to advance women in technology, law, and policy. The organization has about 5,000 members – from both the private sector and government – with more than 20 chapters based in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. ChIPs helps empower its members to take active roles in the lawmaking, policymaking, judicial, advocacy, and innovation processes in their countries.
