Notable Successes

LMG Life Sciences recognized Desmarais LLP’s leading life sciences patent litigation practice in its 2023 rankings, highlighting the firm in the “General Patent Litigation” and “Hatch-Waxman Patent Litigation (Branded)” categories and selecting five firm partners to its “Life Sciences Stars” list.
 
Earlier this year, LMG Life Sciences also honored Desmarais LLP with the 2023 Patent Impact Case of the Year Award as recognition for the $372.5 million in wins the firm secured for the biotech company Ravgen against Labcorp. Desmarais LLP earned a $272.5 million jury verdict in September 2022 against Labcorp and the judge in the case later awarded $100 million in enhanced damages in May 2023. Additionally, Desmarais LLP successfully defended Ravgen’s patents against 10 inter partes review challenges before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
